🌿 New Wine: Surrendering to the Call

This blog was created for the woman who knows she is called… but feels unsure, unqualified, or afraid to step forward. If that’s you — you’re not alone. God is not looking for perfection. He is looking for surrender.

Lately, as I’ve stepped into my calling to start SheBelieved, a song has been rising in my heart — “New Wine” by Hillsong.

It’s not a song I’ve particularly listened to much in the past, yet over the last few days, it kept coming back to me.

So I paused… and I listened.

And as I listened, the words began to minister to me deeply.

I realised something powerful:
The Lord can use me to break new ground — all I have to do is surrender.

🌾 From Inadequacy to Surrender

In my previous blog, I shared how I delayed starting SheBelieved.
But what I didn’t say was this:

I felt inadequate.

I questioned myself:

  • What do I really have to offer?

  • Am I enough?

Yet the truth is — there is so much inside of me.

But instead of looking to God who was calling me,
I looked at my limitations.

🐴 God Uses the Unexpected

In Numbers 22:21–39, God used Balaam’s donkey — an unlikely vessel — to accomplish His purpose.

And in Luke 19:40 (ESV), Jesus said:

“I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.”

Even creation will respond if we refuse to.

🧠 The Real “Pharisees”

In my case, the “Pharisees” were not people around me.

They were the voices within me:

  • You’re not ready

  • You’re not qualified

  • Who do you think you are?

But those voices are not from God.

✨ A Call to You

Beloved, maybe this resonates with you.

Is the Lord calling you…
but you feel inadequate?

Maybe:

  • You’re being called into a new career

  • Into motherhood

  • Into starting a business

  • Into ministry

And fear is whispering “you can’t.”

But here is the truth:

👉🏾 God is not looking for perfection — He is looking for surrender.

Quiet every voice that tells you that you cannot.

Step out in faith.
Trust the One who called you.

🌍 Your Obedience Matters

Your obedience is not just about you.

Generations are connected to your “yes.”

When you hold back,
you may be withholding what God placed inside of you for others.

🔥 A Prayer of Surrender

These lyrics have become my prayer:

So make me Your vessel
Make me an offering
Make me whatever You want me to be
I came here with nothing
But all You have given me
Jesus, bring new wine out of me

🔥 Final Charge

Beloved,
let us lay down our old ways…

…and carry the new fire God is placing within us.

Surrender.
Trust.
Obey.

And watch what God will do with your yes.
