She Believed: Even In The Waiting

·

Scripture

“Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength…” — Isaiah 40:31

Devotional Thoughts

I found myself sitting in a waiting room with my 10-year-old son.

What was meant to be a fun roller-skating birthday party quickly turned into concern after a fall left him in pain. So we came in… and waited.

And waited.

Over two hours passed, and as we sat there, I noticed something unsettling—people who arrived after us were being called before us.

It would have been easy to feel overlooked. Forgotten. Even frustrated.

But then it clicked.

They weren’t being called before us because they were more important—
their cases were simply more urgent.

And in that moment, God whispered a deeper truth:

This is what waiting on Me can feel like.

You’ve been praying.
You’ve been trusting.
You’ve been believing.

Yet it seems like others are being “attended to” first—
their breakthroughs, their testimonies, their answered prayers.

Meanwhile… you wait.

Waiting can test your heart.
It can tempt you to compare.
It can make you question if God still sees you.

But be encouraged: God is not ignoring you.

There is divine timing.
There is heavenly order.
There is purpose in your waiting.

Think about Hannah, who poured out her soul before the Lord before she held Samuel in her arms.
Think about Sarah, who waited years for a promise that seemed impossible.
Think about Rachel, who longed deeply before God opened her womb.

None of them were forgotten.
And neither are you.

Waiting is not punishment—it is preparation.
It is where your strength is renewed and your faith is refined.

So don’t lose heart.

Stay in position.
Keep serving.
Keep praying.
Keep trusting.

Because at the appointed time…
your name will be called.

Prayer

Lord, in seasons where I feel forgotten, remind me that You are still working. Help me to trust Your timing even when I don’t understand it. Strengthen my heart in the waiting and keep me from comparison. Teach me to serve, to pray, and to remain faithful. I believe that You have not forgotten me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Reflection

  • Where have I been tempted to compare my journey with others?
  • What is God teaching me in this waiting season?
  • How can I remain faithful while I wait?

Declaration

I will not lose heart in the waiting.
God’s timing is perfect, and He has not forgotten me.
